The Swiss education system differs significantly from many other countries.
The Langgymnasium pathway is selective, the structure is unique, and language proficiency plays a crucial role in academic success.
For international and multilingual families, making the right decisions at the right time can feel overwhelming.
At Logos Lehrerteam, we combine over 30 years of experience in Gymnasium preparation with a structured, transparent approach.
We help you understand your options and prepare your child strategically for the Langgymnasium pathway.
Two Structured Pathways to the Langgymnasium
Depending on your child’s current grade and German proficiency, there are two preparation routes.
Early Preparation (Grade 5 elementary school)
Academic Language Bridge (6-week program)
→ followed by
Gymnasium Preparation – Standard Program (Grade 6)
This pathway allows students to strengthen advanced school-level German before entering the full 19-week preparation program.
Direct Entry (Grade 6 elementary school)
Students entering Grade 6 may choose between:
Gymnasium Preparation – Standard Program (19-week program)
or
Gymnasium Preparation – Multilingual Track (19-week program)
Both programs follow the same structured 19-week preparation system.
The Multilingual Track integrates additional language-focused support.

Instructor
Tanja Gerig is an experienced primary school teacher and has been with us since 2016. Building on our existing Gymivorbereitungskurs, she tailored the Gymipreparation Plus for children with a multilingual background and personally teaches it at our location in Zurich-Oerlikon. Her background includes:
Primary school teacher with CAS in German as a second language
Master of Science in Psychology, University of Zurich
In addition to teaching, 60% workload as a market researcher
“After eight years as a primary school and DaZ teacher, I broadened my professional horizons and gained experience in career counseling and market research.
However, teaching never completely left me—I have been part of the Logos Lehrerteam since 2016 and really enjoy teaching the Gymikurse.
Due to my background as a DaZ teacher, the support of multilingual students is particularly close to my heart. I am therefore very pleased to have been able to co-develop and teach the new intensive German course.”
