Is your child already good at German, but would like to improve its German in certain areas and is ready to put in the extra effort? Then the "Gymivorbereitung Plus" course is ideal.

Same program and all the content of the normal German and Maths course

In addition in the German Course:

  • In-depth study of topics that often cause difficulties for multilingual students (e.g. the 4 cases, irregular verb forms)

  • Individual and targeted vocabulary expansion with a vocabulary app

  • Even more detailed essay feedback and in-depth text revision

The course is aimed at motivated, high-performing students who already speak German very well and want to get the most out of the Gymi preparatory course in order to improve their German even further.

As the “Gymivorbereitung Plus”-course includes additional material as well as the content of the regular course, homework loaed is slightly higher (approximately 30 additional minutes) than in the regular courses.

The course prepares students for the Langgymnasium (after primary school).
Children may enrol if neither parent speaks Swiss German or German as their native language.

Instructor

Tanja Gerig is an experienced primary school teacher and has been with us since 2016. Building on our existing Gymivorbereitungskurs, she tailored the Gymipreparation Plus and Gymnasium Language Bridge for children with a multilingual background and personally teaches it at our locations in Zurich-City and Zurich-Oerlikon. Her background includes:

  • Primary school teacher with CAS in German as a second language

  • Master of Science in Psychology, University of Zurich

  • In addition to teaching, 60% workload as a market researcher

After eight years as a primary school and DaZ teacher, I broadened my professional horizons and gained experience in career counseling and market research.

However, teaching never completely left me—I have been part of the Logos Lehrerteam since 2016 and really enjoy teaching the Gymikurse.

Due to my background as a DaZ teacher, the support of multilingual students is particularly close to my heart. I am therefore very pleased to have been able to co-develop and teach the new intensive German course.

Gain clarity about the Swiss education system

The Swiss school system can be difficult to understand — especially for families who are new to Switzerland or unfamiliar with its structure.

Key decisions, such as the pathway to the Langgymnasium or the role of vocational education, are often very different from what parents know from other countries.

In our free information sessions, we provide a clear and structured overview of the system and answer your individual questions.
