Gymnasium Language Bridge (Grade 5)

Focused preparation before entering the Gymnasium pathway

Many multilingual students demonstrate strong cognitive abilities — often particularly in mathematics — but may not yet have developed the advanced school-level German typically acquired through extensive reading and continuous language exposure.

The Gymnasium Language Bridge (6-week program) is designed to strengthen these skills before entering our Gymnasium Preparation Standard Program and aims to teach students skills and tools that will help them get the most out of the standard course, in order to continuously improve their individual German language level.

Instructor

Tanja Gerig is an experienced primary school teacher and has been with us since 2016. Building on our existing Gymivorbereitungskurs, she tailored the Gymipreparation Plus and the Gymnasium Language Bridge for children with a multilingual background and personally teaches it at our locations in Zurich-City and Zurich-Oerlikon. Her background includes:

  • Primary school teacher with CAS in German as a second language

  • Master of Science in Psychology, University of Zurich

  • In addition to teaching, 60% workload as a market researcher

After eight years as a primary school and DaZ teacher, I broadened my professional horizons and gained experience in career counseling and market research.

However, teaching never completely left me—I have been part of the Logos Lehrerteam since 2016 and really enjoy teaching the Gymikurse.

Due to my background as a DaZ teacher, the support of multilingual students is particularly close to my heart. I am therefore very pleased to have been able to co-develop and teach the new intensive German course.

Free Information Session for International & Multilingual Families

Gain clarity about the Swiss education system

The Swiss school system can be difficult to understand — especially for families who are new to Switzerland or unfamiliar with its structure.

Key decisions, such as the pathway to the Langgymnasium or the role of vocational education, are often very different from what parents know from other countries.

In our free information sessions, we provide a clear and structured overview of the system and answer your individual questions.
